Good to have an alternative November 5, 2005
Posted by clayton in : workout , add a comment I had a bad day at school. I was attacked by some germs and probably caught a cold. But the good thing is that my body has a fairly well strategy against these germs. I don't know why but I had the same thing going on last Friday and my cold got better in a day. I really hope this one doesn't last…More good news, it didn't stop me from working out
After school: I felt like running an easy 10km but unfortunately, I didn't have any running clothes. I usually get pissed off at this point but not today, here comes the alternative, fun with yoga ball!!! (kinda thought that the word "yoga ball" sounds holy…hehe, doesn't it?) I have a good prevention for the fall of motivation now, isn't this some good news?
Fun with yoga ball: I did the stretches/muscle training? introduced on this one magazine I have. Do these stretches really work? I doubt it…but the muscle training works really well. Since I'm doing everything on a ball, I have to balance myself which leads to balanced muscles/ body. I did this for about 45min.
The swim: Swam about 1100m. Since Fridays are just way toooo easy, I focused more on speed. We had these weird things going on trying to butterfly and after that, 50m*8 intervals. I have absolutely no idea what the coach is up to but I did it. And the 50m*8 intervals…it was another slow 1min30sec cycle and my average time was 49sec…what happened? I had a hard time going 53sec this Tuesday…weird things really happen. Especially when it isn't expected. 1st 48s, 2nd 48s, 3rd 49s, 4th 50s, 5th 50s, 6th 49s, 7th 50s, 8th 48s. Here's what happened today, this one guy had his first day in the advanced class…He was dying to catch up with me when it was form practice, awww, reminds me, I did the same
That was the first 15min of the swim class and I kinda knew he'll stop that in a few more minutes…I was right, it's fun when I predict right…hehe. The sad side (not for me but for him). He was removed to the slower lane when the intervals started. Pretty sure he'll get used to it in a few weeks or so…
Tomorrow: I have another test!!! Luckily, only three subjects. After that, I'll go home, change clothes and go back to the swimming pool. Not to swim but to go get my racing number with my coach. After that, maybe a little bit of running just to review some stuff…
