Didn't try today but certainly wrote a lot of thoughts January 1, 2006
Posted by clayton in : workout , add a commentI was gonna run only if the rain stopped for a little while but suprisingly, it was raining all day long. Felt like I was in a rain forest or something. So, I watched a crappy game of soccer on tv and went to grandma's and ate soba(noodles). My "thoughts" may be interesting but don't hate me after reading it!!!
Thoughts: On the way back from my grandma's house, there were about 5 Americans in a cab fooling around and I think they were drunk. Then, one of them gave me the finger for no reason and lipped, "fuck you." How immature could he be? Obviously from the military because they all had similar haircuts and most of the Americans on island have something to do with the military. I wouldn't hate all Americans just for this one incident done by one ignorant, immature and irresponsible man but I would say this is probably why a lot of people, especially those who are from the Middle East, dislike Americans. By the way, many people on island have a problem with US forces being here… I have a problem with that too, can you imagine how hard it is to focus on studying while 3 fighters per hour make noise in the sky everyday. Sometimes, I would hear a helicopter flying around pretty late at night. Oh yeah, did I say it get's louder and louder every year? On the news, I see some people checking how loud a noise the US forces are making and according to that, it's getting louder and louder every year. And did I mention a helicopter crashed into a college nearby? I could get there in 15min with my mtb… Luckily, no casualties but guess what the US forces did? They awarded the pilot who crashed the helicopter for that, can you believe this?!?! I mean, yeah he didn't kill anybody but this was just a miracle and welcome to the real world, he CRASHED the helicopter risking so many lives. In my opinion, I think the US government is sooo self centered and is an egoist, after all, most of the people in top rank such as the President(should I really make that a capital "P"?) all have something to do with oil. Isn't it pretty obvious why the war in Iraq started? On tv, I saw the President saying that America is the police of the world or something like that but what kinda misunderstanding is that?
Oh yeah, not done yet. I was watching this one news on tv, probably CBS or some other American station which really interested me. They say that Japan is ready to resume the import of American beef. Wait a minute, Japan IS NOT ready at all, the only reason why Japan is gonna have to import the beef is because America put some pressure on Japan. So that's the dark, invisible point on tv… I know the Japanese government is a really high-strung government over these things but they already have enough problems and just don't wanna make more. That's why checking 1 out of 10 cows for BSE, just isn't enough.
At last, I'll just remind you that I am an American, just happened to live in Japan with both citizenships but should I be proud to be an American? What a geeky way to finish this post, hehe. Good thing I didn't stick the finger back to those guys and add a "pick my nose and flick the buger at them" in the end, now I could say, "I was the bigger man." All I did was give them a, "scarry stare." It's a horrible way to end this year but things happen, especially when they're least expected. Least expected…why did I add that? because one of the Americans did the, "I love you" sign language before that other guy gave me the finger, which just ruined it. Oh yeah, don't forget to not hate me;-)
Tomorrow: New Year's, actually, it's already a new year over here…Thinking of a ride but might not have the time. Gotta go over to my relative's house and say hi. Have fun!!!
