Huge temperature drop January 7, 2006
Posted by clayton in : workout , add a commentToday was a real bummer and tomorrow, the high is gonna be 14C/cloudy…Will I be able to ride. Even if I can't, I think I will anyway, 3days left to ride in 150km + bad weather is just freaking me out. If everything goes right, I'll get 100km off of that and still go for a swim in the afternoon. I trained with the yoga ball, mainly the lower body and got ready for a swim but didn't go. The temp has fallen just about 8C in two days and I just can't take the risk of catching another cold when I only have 3days left for the 1000km challenge. When I think about it, it's all my fault that I didn't ride in more during winter break, stupid me. You know what? Should I start having my own 1000km challenges every month or something!? That way, I wouldn't have any problem trying out for it next time.
Yoga ball: I just did the stuff that was written on a bike magazine, 45min. Focused on going sloooooow so that my legs will feel some tiredness, it's been numb?? since the 160km. Not really numb but my legs don't know what tired means anymore…Good but scary, eh? I noticed this yesterday while swimming the 1000m TT. The last 200m, I was kicking pretty hard and I had no problem breathing, is it the cafe au lait I drank?
Weird thing at the pool: It's about yesterday after we finished swimming. As usual, I think I looked like a dead man walking. The fastest guy comes by to get his towel and says, "hard working." or something like that, couldn't find a better fit word that Japanese people say after having a workout/ getting off work. Still don't talk much cause I haven't been going there for 3weeks but then one of the girls (that I've said good afternoon to in the past but never really talked to) also came up to get her towel and she was doing the "bow" and looked at me, smiled and then ran into the shower. I probably had my right eyebrow up, hehe, what was that all about? For some reason, I've always had a scary impression on her but that disappeared when this happened. Maybe it's because I've never really seen her smile before, atleast without the goggles on:-)
Tomorrow: I really just wanna be relieved from this pressure…should I go for another 160km and get a flat? Oh, that reminds me…Gotta fix my tube and stick an extra one in my saddle bag. If it rains, I think I'll go to the morning practice that the swimmers do at the pool. The last time I went, or in other words, the first time I went, it was a lot of fun because there were 5 of us with 5 lanes to use;-) And then another swim in the afternoon.
