This is what I like about Saturday swimming January 8, 2006

It's fun cause I get to practice free style, which is the only "style" I need to know. But what's with the 1000m breast stroke TT? I guess I have a problem with every swim style that's not free style, hehe. It leaves me with some pain in the knees after 1000m of complicated bending and then stretching them out. My time was 25:50, I laughed at my slowness. Yes, it is a TT but I didn't really have any pressure or motivation because…well, it's breast stroke, do I have to give it my best shot? Don't take that in a bad way, I'm a cautious guy…Just don't wanna get injured.

After the 400m warm up and 1000m TT, the coach made me work on form. He's a nice guy, he understands that I'm swimming for a triathlon so he doesn't make me train other swim styles unless there are a lot of people in the pool. Plus today, he didn't make me do any kick drills, I guess he did some research…triathletes wanna save their legs for biking/running, right? Oh yeah, we did some 25m sprints and here's one problem….I suck at diving. Every time I started, I didn't really go in the water, the best fit word is, I was "hitting" the water. My fastest was a 19.0s and I have many more excuses for that:-) I guess I'll keep it in. Swam a total of 3150m.

Tomorrow: If it rains, I'll ride on my trainer. I didn't go out for a ride today and still have 150km left, oops!!! Hopefully, I'll get it done tomorrow. Maybe a run if I have any energy left.
