A new gadget to finish a nice day March 2, 2006

We had a graduation ceremony at school today and school finished a bit early. Got home a little past 2pm, ate curry for lunch and took a nap. I was a little disappointed because I skipped a trainer ride but I still had a 20km run and a swim left to do so that helped me forget about everything.

The 1st run: After I ran the marathon on Sunday, my body has been floating and the 10km to the swimming pool felt like nothing. I wouldn't say I was running at a fast pace but it wasn't too slow either plus I was far away from panting. The way to the pool is a pretty hilly course but the uphills didn't really bother me at all. It took me 57'38.

The swim: Just a little over 2000m today(2400m?). 200m warm up, about 400m of unexplainable form practice and then 100m*18 intervals. First 5 was form(2:10), next 4 was speed(2:00), next 5 was form(2:10) and the last 4 was speed(1:50). I was a bit tired after the run and was worried if I could hang in there but to be honest, it was a pretty easy swim…

The 2nd run: Now I thought I'd be dead like last week but I was wrong. In fact, I had a faster time on the way back than the first 10km, 56'02. My legs weren't hurting at all and I wasn't dying for water either. Ran both 10kms without water breaks. I attacked the last hill which is SUPER steep and had no problem, I guess this is what I get for finishing a marathon;-) But that's not the end of the story…When I got home, my Polar rs200sd arrived!!!! It sounds like "the guy above" is telling me to train more, hehe.

Tomorrow: Now I have enough motivation to hop back on the trainer tomorrow. I would definately like to try my new hrm. Wanna take it for a run but it's been running lately, I was running in the rain today, too…
