Posted by clayton in : workout , add a commentDid the morning swim, did the 3km warm up run, did the trainer ride but didn't have the 10km run or the afternoon swim either. I was overheated, too tired. The run was supposed to be right after the trainer ride but I was out of gas.
Morning swim: I went for the short 3km warm up run and thought about checking if the run course was really 3km so I took the footpod with me. It showed something like 0.7km, now it's obvious that there's a problem with the footpod, it wouldn't take me 15min to go 0.7km. My right foot's thumb has been hurting since last Wednesday but it wasn't too bad this morning. Then the swim starts, 200m warm up, 2sets of 25m*12 kick drills, this is my weakest link…(kick*4, right pull+kick*2, left pull+kick*2, swim, 0:40cycle). To tell the truth, I wasn't able to make it in time. Then came a 50m*16 pull(1:10) and a 50m*16 kick with fins(1:15). After that was 200m*4 speed(4:00). Didn't have time to cool down.
The trainer ride: Total of 30min. I started with forming, went to speed ended with all out sprints. 5min warm up, 3sets of 1min*3(right, left, both), 3sets of 2min hard+1min easy and then 3sets of 30sec sprint+1min30sec easy, 1min cool down. Wasn't able to push hard enough for the sprints, I think I should shift up a few next time. My heartrate wasn't that high and I wasn't really panting either.
I just figured out my "predicted" max hr, the watch showed 198…isn't that pretty low? Wonder if I did the test right, hehe.
Tomorrow: Group ride and I'll probably be dead exhausted afterwards.
