Could've done more March 8, 2006
Posted by clayton in : workout , add a commentI had a 20min swim yesterday, didn't feel like swimming anymore so I told the coach I had a back ache and went home, ofcourse that's a lie…I've never had a back ache before, hehe. Just to get rid of the useless explanation.
Today, I went for a 35km ride which was supposed to be 40km but there was some construction going on so I made it a bit short. Then a 10km run, wouldn't call it a brick because I was playing with my cell phone and cat for about an hour. A tiring swim to end the day.
The ride: Could've gone the whole way but I saw some traffic and there was only one lane available. Plus I was a bit pissed off at one of the drivers… I was riding at 35kph and I saw this one car stop, yes, he did stop, the driver looked at me in the eyes and I AM SURE he SAW ME but he decided to start anyway, selfish freak. I instantly turned left and managed to dodge THIS CAR. Then he went for a u turn like nothing ever happened. He was looking at me like he was mad or something so I gave him my, "scary stare" and ofcourse I was saying 'FU#& YOU' in my mind, might have lipped it. He didn't even bother to stop and say sorry, instead, he looked at me as if I was the one who did the bad, IDIOT!!! First 16.5km, 32'53, avg cadence 79rpm, avg speed 30.3kph. Second 16.5km, 33'32, avg cadence 74rpm, avg speed 29.8kph. Crappy ride with good results… It really isn't about the results, is it? I'd rather go at 25kph avg and feel good in the end.
The run: 10km…Since when have I been running every run at LSD pace? I noticed this when I hit 8km, 41min already passed. 1-10'18, 2-10'22, 3-10'17, 4-10'27, 5-9'36. Total of 51'02. I tried to make the last lap a sub 9min but I guess my legs were too used to the LSD pace. No panting at all and no tiredness either. Felt pretty good.
The swim: I wasn't feeling up to it, didn't wanna swim at all. The coach said, "maybe you're catching a cold, back ache yesterday…blah blah" Sorry, that's a lie, hehe. Sorry, I'm a liar, but see, it's for good, don't wanna waste anybody's time for stupid excuses. Thought about going home but just swam anyway. 50m warm up(supposed to be 200m but I was kinda sleep walking and stuff), 150m*4 kick, pull, swim, 25m*4 speed 2sets, 50m*8 sprints. This is the Tuesday swim, 50m*8 sprints, the coach times us and does the math and gives us our avg time. The coach said I renewed my PR by 2sec or so…Wonder why…What have I been doing? I didn't care about my times. At first, the coach was saying something like 52sec… during the sprints but he was talking about another boy with the same name, he just moved to our course. That 52sec thingy did shock me but it wasn't big enough to get me moving at all. Then a 100m cool down. Total of 1250m.
Tomorrow: I have no idea, the weather keeps on changing and I wanna go for a ride but might ride on the trainer. Maybe make it a brick. Then, in the afternoon, take a nap, run to the swimming pool, swim and run back.
