World Baseball Classic March 14, 2006

Nothing to do with triathlons and yes, I did train today but I just can't get this off my mind. 50min trainer ride and a swim.

Well, there's this tournament thingy called, "World Baseball Classic" going on and today's game was USA vs Japan. First I heard the results on the radio, American Forces Network, and they said USA won against Japan 4-3. Then I saw it on tv…The bases were loaded with one out, Japans chance to score and the batter hit a sacrifice fly. The outfield caught it and the guy on third base ran for home and he made it. But then the catcher said that the runner already started running before the outfield caught the ball and the chief umpire overturned his judgement. That's just so impossible and it's the first time that I've ever seen an umpire change his judgement. Now, you could even check this on replay, the runner WAS STILL ON THE BASE when the outfield caught the ball. That just isn't fair…Is this "World Baseball Classic" whatever all planned out for America to win? I won't blame the American players but still, there wasn't anyone honest enough to say the umpire was wrong. If I were on the American team, I would be embarrased, wouldn't call that a win. Bad game, all thumbs down…It was just so depressing.

50min trainer ride: The usual 5min warm up, 5sets of 1m*3(right, left, both) shift up after 1st&3rd set, 5sets of 2m hard+1m easy shifted up after 1st&3rd set again, 5sets of 30s all out+1m30s easy and then 5min cool down. Maxhr was 183bpm, Avg was 155bpm. I really wasn't feeling up to it, had a small headache probably from the change in weather, the temp dropped like 10C in 2days and my body couldn't adapt. My nose is still running like a faucet and I'm sneezing a lot.

Swim: The warm up terrified me a bit. It was 150m*4 kick, pull, swim 4min cycle and the first two were freestyle and the second two were backstroke. The coach was all pumped up today. I guess something good has happened, hehe. Then came like 4sets of kick drills, 25m*2 kick, 25m*2 2kick 1pull, 25m*2 1kick 2pull, 25m*2 swim, all breast stroke at 0:40cycle. 25m*16 IM pull, 2sets(0:40) I just suck at breast stroke…never really liked it either. 25m*4 sprints and 100m cool down. Total of 2400m, not swimming enough these days…Wonder why.

Tomorrow: Wake up early if I could and go out for a ride or stay in do some stretches/ trainer ride. After school, either have a trainer ride or quick run, but no swim. Gotta go to my cousin's "You passed the highschool entrance exam, YAY!!! celebration thingymajic."
